At CTI we believe the design-build process is a better solution for most projects because the team is organized under one entity. This creates a cohesive atmosphere for all stages of the design, including the engineering, costing, and construction; enabling all parties to strive for the highest quality on-budget, on-time results. Design-build projects also enjoy the ease of having only one contact for the owner throughout the design and construction process.
With high goals for energy and resource efficiency the benefits of design-build become even more apparent. Super-efficient design and construction requires a high level of attention to detail for the building shell, building components and mechanical systems which are often not understood by conventional building crews. Contractors and system installers must be educated and trained to meet the higher quality standards One-Watt-House projects demand and which cannot be controlled in the traditional design-bid-build process. To meet this need CTI has relationships with general contractors and suppliers in the greater Chicago area that partner with CTI from project conception through final completion.
